What's in it for me?

 

Well, if you are a boot fitter working anywhere across the globe we hope to be a resource in many areas of the profession, be it on-line training on advanced modification techniques, help and advice on career development or just a friendly community of fellow boot fitters. Each year the association will (dependent on funds available) issue a number of training grants to boot fitters looking to advance their careers, these grants will be towards courses from recognized industry providers. Parameters will be set and members will be able to nominate themselves or be nominated to receive help.

What does it cost?

 

As with everything there is a cost involved, but with the Global Association of Professional Bootfitters we want to keep this to a minimum, as such we have 3 levels of paid membership, one other and an option to donate towards the association.  The running costs of the association are low, but we still have to cover the cost of web hosting, and filing of legal paperwork and the likes, any residual funds will be set aside and used for training grants and advancement of the profession as a whole.

1 Individual membership $XX per year (renews annually) (For this year ONLY we are including a years membership within the cost of sign up for the congress in September this is a one off payment).  

2 Company membership, for retail businesses who want to access the association for advertising for staff and to advertise their services $xxx

3 Supplier/Corporate membership, for suppliers who what to help with the promotion of the profession of boot fitting and boot fitters $xxxx 

4 Emeritus membership, each year a small number of life time boot fitters who have made a significant contribution to the industry will be added as life members, nominations for this will happen each year and be voted on.

5 Donor, this is simply for those who wish to put something back into the industry, can be a monthly or one off donation, your help is truly appreciated.

Will there be in-person events

 

We would love to organize an in-person get together and hopefully sometime in the future we will be able to do this, however as most people can agree our profession for the most part is not highly paid so the expense for people to all get to a single location can be unaffordable, but never say never, there are some ideas floating about for the long term and if you have any please get in touch and let us know.
